It was a little wet Saturday morning as the sun broke through the clouds, but that didn’t hinder things at Charles Reed III Memorial Flying Field in Fleming Park. Scout Troop 306 had breakfast available for hungry modelers, and the pits started to fill as the rain moved out of the area. For a little while anyway.
A quick meeting and raising of the flag by the Scouts and the 20 registered pilots were notified the fourth annual Mike Ryken Jet Rally had been cleared for takeoff.
Modelers from surrounding areas and from as far away as Omaha and Wichita joined Kansas City Radio Control Association members for a great day of flying and modelers’ camaraderie.
A big thanks to the KC/RC ground crew for a great flight plan to kickoff our summer events.
Make plans now to join us July 12, 2025 for a relaxed day of flying featuring non-competitive games and challenges (well, maybe a little competitive). It's a chance for all pilots to share their models, skills, and have fun. Breakfast and lunch will be available for purchase by local Scout Troop 1306. Check out the flyer on Facebook or the web for additional details.
