Kansas City Radio Control Association
AMA Club #390
AMA District VI
The Kansas City Radio Control Association was chartered with the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) as club number #390 in 1954. Our flying field is located on Reanu Drive in Fleming Park, Lees Summit, Jackson County, Missouri. Check our maps page for directions or GPS coordinates.
We have a North - South asphalt runway 500 feet long by 40 feet wide adjacent to the asphalt runway there is similar sized grass runway. The flying area is defined by the tree line to the north and south and three large tress to the East. Other features include concrete pads and tables in the pit area, plenty of shade trees and a spacious shelter house. There are also bleachers for spectators this hobby can attract.
We hold monthly meetings the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM. May through August we meet at the flying field, September through April we meet at the EAA Hanger at Lees Summit Airport. Guests are alway’s welcome it your are interested in radio control flying stop by a meeting or the field.
The best thing we have is a group of really good hearted members who are always willing to help out someone new to the hobby. We have several designated trainers and we presently have a club trainer plane and radio outfit for those who want to try their hand at it before investing the money. Once they try, they're hooked on R/C model airplane flying.
